Put your own content in
Type or paste a word list, or load one of the themed lists and edit it. Titles, names and words are all optional — a maze needs nothing from you but a size.
Two-word phrases are handled properly: spaces disappear inside the grid but stay in the printed list.

Set the size and difficulty
Grid size drives letter size, so smaller grids print larger and gentler. Direction rules and word count do the rest. Presets named Easy through Expert set all of them together.
For large print, use a small grid with few words rather than a big grid you plan to enlarge on the copier.

What ages are these free printable puzzles for?
Roughly four upwards. Among the printable puzzles here, a 9 × 9 word search with eight short words suits four to six year olds; a 20 × 20 grid in every direction with the word list hidden will keep an adult busy.
How do I make a puzzle easier or harder?
Three things move the difficulty: the size of the grid, how many directions words may run in, and whether the word list is printed. Changing the grid alone changes the letter size too, which is why small grids are also the large-print option.
Can I print several puzzles at once?
Yes. Raise the puzzle count and you get up to twelve different printable puzzles built from the same content, each with its own answer page, in one PDF. Set two per page and the sheets can be cut in half for a class.
What file formats do I get with these puzzles?
Free printable puzzles download as a vector PDF containing every puzzle and answer page, or as a PNG of the preview page. There is also a direct Print button that sends pages to your printer at true size.
Can I get the same puzzle back later?
Yes. Each sheet prints a short seed in its footer. Type that seed back into the same generator with the same settings and the identical puzzle returns, which is how you reprint a lost worksheet.
Is anything I type sent to a server?
No. Word lists, names, titles and settings are processed entirely by your browser, and the PDF is assembled there too. There is no upload step at any point.
