Match an existing ring by its true inner diameter
For the most repeatable home method, choose a round ring that fits the same finger and hand. Place it flat over the printable ring sizer circles. Look straight down and choose the circle whose line meets the ring's inner edge all the way around—do not measure the outer metal. The PDF pairs each circle with US, UK and EU references plus its inner diameter in mm.
Cut the paper strip, then prove the print scale
No suitable ring? Cut out the printable ring sizer strip, open its slit, and loop it around the finger without compressing the skin. It must also pass over the knuckle. Before trusting the result, measure the 1-inch and 5-centimetre calibration boxes with a physical ruler. Verify both calibration boxes
Use a reliable physical ruler. The small square must be exactly 1 × 1 inch and the large grid exactly 5 × 5 cm. If either is wrong, fix the print settings and reprint.
Do not compensate by guessing between sizes on a scaled sheet.

Measure twice with the right method
Match the inner edge of an existing round ring, or use the cut strip without squeezing. Measure the intended finger and hand, check the knuckle, and repeat when your hands are at a normal temperature.
For wide bands, unusual shapes or costly rings, ask the seller or a jeweller about fit.

Treat the result as an initial estimate
Paper can bend, stretch, absorb moisture and sit differently from metal. Confirm with a jeweller's finger gauges before a valuable or hard-to-resize purchase.

Should I measure an existing ring or my finger?

Do I measure the inside or outside diameter of a ring?
Measure the inside diameter: the widest straight distance across the empty opening, from one inner edge to the opposite inner edge. Do not include the metal band. The existing ring should also be round rather than bent or oval.
What ring size is 17 mm in diameter?
An inner diameter near 17 mm sits around US 6.5, UK M and EU 53, but charts round differently. At 16.9 mm, this printable ring sizer lists US 6.5 / UK M / EU 53. Compare the seller's own chart before ordering.
What is the difference between US, UK and EU ring sizes?

What should I do if I am between two ring sizes?

When is the best time of day to measure ring size?

Do wide bands need a larger ring size?
